Description
Project IOWA's YouthWorks: New Work-based Learning Opportunities for DSM Students
Chris Noth
YouthWorks Program Manager
Des Moines native Chris Noth has worked with youth as a teacher, residential care worker, and nonprofit professional, mostly in Chicago. After moving back to Des Moines in 2019, Noth noticed a lack of professional internship opportunities for students and so he approached Project IOWA with a proposal to expand the nonprofit's mission to serve teens-- and YouthWorks was born. The program is based on a model that has shown success in Chicago and other cities in preparing underserved students for postsecondary success and pathways to rewarding careers.
