HOME, Inc. is proud to present our 5th annual Hunt for Housing event on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 from 5-7:30pm at West End Architectural Salvage. Join us for an evening of celebration! There will be food and drinks, client testimonials, a silent auction featuring items from dozens of local businesses, and a wine pull.

HOME, Inc. is the oldest private nonprofit housing organization in Des Moines. We meet individuals and families where they are on their housing journey by surrounding them with compassion, support, and education so they feel empowered to make a safe, stable home for themselves and their family.

We accomplish this by:

• Providing counseling and education for renters, homebuyers, and landlords.

• Building and rehabbing homes to create low-to-moderate homeownership opportunities.

• Providing home improvements for elderly and disabled homeowners.

• Offering affordable rental housing opportunities for low-income families working to exit homelessness.

We have exciting goals for 2024, which will allow us to extend our community impact. We will build sixteen new homes within the next eighteen months, all of which will provide affordable homeownership opportunities for low-to-moderate income households. We are working to expand our educational services to additional audiences, and we are developing new training opportunities such as our forthcoming landlord and property manager group class.

Supporting the Hunt for Housing event supports the work of our dedicated team in continuing to provide these essential services to our current and future clients. You will be supporting an important mission to empower individuals and families to achieve housing stability and success. A stable home is the foundation that gives individuals and families the opportunity to thrive. When people are stably housed, they are able to work toward greater economic independence and attainment of personal and professional goals.
