This is an online event. You must register for the event to attend. The Zoom link will be emailed out prior to the webinar. The monthly meeting portion of this particular event will be pushed to the end of the program, due to the interest in the topic from those outside of the non-profit industry.

Description
Each year, one in five Americans experiences a mental illness. Most will wait an average of ten years before seeking treatment, largely due to the stigma. With the COVID pandemic, mental health awareness and self-care has never been more important, which makes it the perfect time to start talking about mental illnesses and what we can do to Make it Ok. We are part of a local effort to change hearts and minds about the misconceptions about mental illnesses. The effort is part of a campaign called ?Make It OK,? and is designed to encourage people to talk more openly about mental illnesses and ask for help. In addition, we will be talking about the basic around self-care and how to create your own self-care plan.
PRESENTER: Andrea Wright is a native of Central Minnesota and currently resides with her husband and daughter in Norwalk, Iowa. She is the Director of Individual and Corporate Giving for Orchard Place, a youth mental health organization serving Iowa children and families. Andrea is a mental health and self-care advocate inside and outside of her work at Orchard Place, as mental health illnesses greatly impact her and her family in many different ways.
The FuseDSM Non-Profit Forum is a group of members representing non-profits and associations who meet monthly to discuss issues impacting their organization, creating a larger unified impact on members of our community.
- This is a benefit for FuseDSM members who represent non-profits and associations.
- There is no charge for being in the group as a member
- A contract and non-disclosure agreement is signed to maintain confidentiality.
- Regular attendance is encouraged.
- Participation is not limited to the individual?s title or how many people attend within their organization.
- Members contribute one (1) win from the month.
- Each member gives a hot topic and discussion will follow.
- One takeaway is given at the end of the meeting.
- Educational speakers are brought in for part of the meeting. Once the speaker is finished he/she leaves the meeting.
