Description
Setting volunteers up for success is the first step towards a volunteer program that meets your needs and mutual expectations. Harness the skill sets of the people willing to support your mission while keeping everyone on track. In this session we will focus on volunteer training and development as a strong foundation to your program.
The Food Bank of Iowa has a volunteer army like very few organizations. Our presenter is Michaela Devaney, Senior Manager of Volunteer Training and Development. Michaela started with the Food Bank of Iowa in 2016, working to build the volunteer program in and out of the warehouse environment. Prior to joining the FBOI, she was managing community engagement efforts at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. She studied psychology and communications at Iowa State University and recently graduated from the Community Leadership Program with a passion for big change in Iowa.
